I've survived 5 at a time before, so don't be too quick to raise the BS flag. It's NOT a cakewalk, by any standards. More or less: Heal signet, Desparation Blow, Heal Signet, Heal Signet, Desperation Blow, Heal Signet, Heal Signet, Dolyak Signet, Desparation Blow, ad infinitum. Each one you kill makes it a little less intense. 6 Shadows at once got the better of me, but I'm sure had I been prepared (i.e. full health from the start), I might have survived. I didn't have the Mending from favor either, which makes a huge difference. With Dolyak, Watch Yourself, and Elemental Resistance up, nothing but the Sig of Judgement does any notable damage. Physical attacks, ice attacks, all 0's and 1's and 2's.

Not true...I've seen Ranger/Mez do the run easier then me...read into that as you will.

I'm sure, don't just rush into it and stay there, run in and draw them out...it staggers the damage, since as you run(not with sprint) away some are able to hit you with sigs(usually their first attack) as you run and mobs don't coordinate really once they have started battle. I can give names of people who've watched me...I don't post bullshit. Most of the damage as stated is zero with the shadows being smite, if you are taking damage DON'T attack...it really is easy...sloooooow as hell, with me not attack at all for say 3 rounds as I spam heal sig. Only real annoying thing is the ice beast takes up so much room, so it's hard to manuever, otherwise it might as well not be there it has no effect for me at all.

With the mending blessing I might use heal sig twice in that battle total...just focus on defense...it isn't about doing it fast imo just doing it.

wheres this info at? cause I know for certain the dessert was farmed heavily before I even began farming and only tapered off for me after id farmed around 20 hours there..

I tend to think drop rate is lowered across the board for all your toons when you farm solo or repeat visit the same area consistantly.

what other people do I dont think effects your drops until you do it as well..

Ive farmed ettins forever and still get decent drops in relation to filling my whole inventory. Its just not as immediate then it used to be. (aka your first run you may score a few purple armors, turn around and go back through and the drops increase a bit and you get a gold etc etc)

there is no place ive found that drops solid golds and purples anymore ( thanks aholnet, nerf more plz increase future sales....)

There is one, and I can easily get 10+ golds a day playing casually, but unfortunately the drops almost all consist of the single most undesirable weapon in the game, so they still mostly get sold to the dealer.

Wow i geuss i'm so unlucky. I made 15 runs today, 10 were bad spawns and in the other 5 not a single IDS dropped.
I'm starting to lose hope :'(

I have made 5 runs to the cave now and not single time have there been ice imps. I'm going to the cave at the upper right hand corner of Mineral Springs. It has a status and some glowing orb things. That is the correct cave right?

There are always Frost titans and Dark Titans. I go through the cave and see the statue, go up a snow covered ramp type thing and ti leads me out of the cave. Then there is an opening to a lake. Is this the correct cave?

Abandon your Defend Droknars Forge quest - the imps will never spawn as long as you have that quest active.

Get rid of the Defend Droknars quest, thats whats causing the problems.

a monk can clear the whole thing back to the seer in one swoop.. even the ice beast is doable with blessed sig- not sure if a warrior can do it any faster have'nt tried yet.. but a monk with -60 dp can do the whole cave front to back pretty wrecklessly.. you need the dp to keep your hp < 40 (preferably 10-29)- use offhands and different armors to adjust your hp as you lose the dp back to the seer

Hey - big thanks to Racthoh for posting the first build for IDS solo farming. I tweaked it slightly for my taste, but for once, at least until it lasts, I have a way to make a little gold without having to make a huge investment in superior runes for a monk.

I guess the swords will either go away or drop in value after 12/31, but I'll take it, even if temporary. I needed money for capture sigs.

I agree. I've given up trying to get one on my Mesmer and am just leveling up my warrior now so I can use him to do solo runs. Unless it turns out that IDSs actually ARE only for the Wintersday duration, in which case I'll be fricking pissed.

I love how all the newbies in GC are asking "Does IDS still drop?!" and you get the farmers who tell them that it stopped dropping or only drops when the Americans (in my case) have favor.

It's pretty fun to solo though. I managed to race through pretty quick. I just hate the bad spawns. :/
